Welcome back Laurel Woods Community!

The PTA is excited about the upcoming 2013-2014 school year especially knowing that we are embarking the 40th Anniversary of LWES! And we are planning to celebrate Laurel Woods in style!!!

We need you--each of  you to make a difference. That is why we are asking that you join your PTA.

Whatever you can do, help out occasionally with events or afterschool programs, chair a committee, make copies, make phone calls, whatever you can do we would be more than happy for your help. Volunteering doesn't have to be laborious, just an hour a month, whatever you can give.

With that said, we would like your feedback to this question:

Why are you/why are you not a PTA member?

  1. When I first became a LWES parent I had one in 5th and the other in 2nd. I joined the PTA my first year there but only as a card carrying member. The following year, I volunteered for some events and met a wonderful group of dedicated and educationally savvy moms and knew that I wanted to get involved. The following year, I held an office on the board and due so today. I am so glad that I joined LWES PTA. I feel like I have some say over what my child is doing in school. It's an empowering feeling.

  2. Why am I a PTA member? I always figured if you want to see something change you should get involved. Some years I've been more involved than others, but I've enjoyed seeing the positive changes and the incredible programs the PTA has initiated during my child's years at Laurel Woods.
